We will never Talk

June 15, 2011

I have been pet sitting for a dog that we fostered before finding our pup. The two of them took a while to warm up (2 days), but now they are playing and walking on the leash like best friends. This evening they started to spontaneously play. They listened to me and kept the energy levels lower. It was really great. when they wound down I called them over to sit down near me. They laid down facing each other, staring into one another’s eyes. It was beautiful and I thought to myself that I wanted to take a picture for our pup so I would be able to show him his old friends when he is older. Then I realized I would never be able to tell him about his friend because he will never be able to talk. I felt sad for a moment.

UPDATE: I just had a thought. He can watch this video. I showed him a video of himself doing tricks the other day and he got really excited.
