My Review of MTI underDOG Flotation Vest for Dogs

Originally submitted at REI

The MTI underDOG Flotation Vest for dogs positions most of its buoyancy under the chest area, supporting a dog’s natural swim posture and making its instinctive swim motions more effective.

Large gap between sizes

Pros: Adjustable, Good Ventilation, Durable

Best Uses: Paddling, Boating, Canoeing, Personal Watercraft

Describe Yourself: Beginner

Was this a gift?: No

Our mini schnauzer measures 9.5″ neck, 17″ girth, 15″ long. The XS did not even come close to fitting. The entire jacket appeared below his body. It did not fit like the dog in advertisement. The next size up was S and it was more like two sizes up. I tightened all the straps completely and it was loose is every dimension. The smallest the S gets is probably 11″ neck 21″ girth, and 21″ length. I liked the concept and the quality. It also had much more reflective material, but all the color and reflective stuff is on the bottom. I want the color on top so people see the dog in the water. Our dog is black and the top of this jacket is black – poor safety device as far as visibility goes.
